Jutta Sika

Linz 1877 - 1964 Vienna

Jutta Sika war born in Linz in 1877. She was a student of Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann between 1897 and 1902. The influence of both her teachers is clearly discernible in her works. In 1901 she founded the “Kunst im Hause” along with a few others, but she was also a cofounder of the Austrian Werkbund. Sika designed ceramics for the company Böck in Vienna, she worked at the Wiener Werkstätte designing postcards and created glass designs for E. Bakalowits Söhne. She even taught at the “Gewerbliche Fortbildungsschule”. Jutta Sika died in Vienna in 1964.
