Founded in 1973 by Christa Zetter, the Galerie bei der Albertina ▪ Zetter focuses on Austrian art of the 20th and 21st century. From fine to applied art, our offer covers a broad variety of artworks. We are happy to introduce you to our gallery and our artists on the following pages!

Mag. Katharina Zetter-Karner

Managing Director

After finishing her studies of Economics, start in the gallery in 1999. Since 2003, working as managing director.

Since January 2003 Katharina Zetter-Karner is the gallery’s managing director. Enthusiastic, committed and forward-looking, Katharina is successfully continuing the 40-year history of the Galerie bei der Albertina ▪ Zetter.

Since its opening the spectrum of artworks on offer has been continuously enlarged and diversified. Today, we are amongst the first addresses when it comes to Austrian Art of the 20th and 21st century, dealing with exquisite paintings, drawings, sculptures and design objects by notable artists.

Founder

Founder of the gallery in the year 1973. Completed the master class for metalwork and goldsmiths at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Expert for Art Nouveau and Austrian Modern Art.

Austrian Art Nouveau and Classical Modernism right in the heart of Vienna

Our gallery is located in Vienna’s historical city centre and in direct proximity to the world-famous Vienna opera and name sake Albertina museum. Galerie bei der Albertina ▪ Zetter presents its exhibits in inviting showrooms that expand over three floors.
Engaging with high quality exhibits of Art Nouveau and Vienna Werkstätte has always been a strong focus in our gallery’s work.

Monika Girtler

Gallery Manager

Studies of Art History at the University of Vienna. Since 2007, active as an employee in the gallery, since 2017 working as gallery manager.

In addition, we display selected paintings and sculptures from the Austrian Classical Modernist era.

Also, contemporary art has always been incorporated in our gallery’s portfolio. Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele, Emil Nolde, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Kiki Kogelnik, Joannis Avramidis, Maria Lassnig, Max Weiler, Wilhelm Nicolaus Prachensky, Markus Prachensky or Gunter Damisch – numerous great names are represented in our gallery.

Art Exhibitions and Fairs

Maximilian Matuschka, MSc.

Senior Associate

Studied cultural sciences in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Since March 2017, active as an employee in the gallery.

Organising exhibitions and participating in national and international art fairs complement the gallery’s agenda. We host exhibitions honouring individual artists and artist groups or focusing on a certain artistic theme, all of which are accompanied by respective publications.

Furthermore, Galerie bei der Albertina ▪ Zetter regularly takes part in four notable art fairs:

Completed German Studies and studies of Art History in 1991 at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Since 1992, active as an employee in the gallery.

Research & Sales Associate

Studied Art History at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Since 2007, active as an employee in the gallery.

Amila Ramic, BA

Junior Associate

Studied Art History at the University of Vienna. Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme. Since 2022, active as an employee in the gallery.

Lara Rosic, BA

Junior Associate

Studied Art History at the University of Vienna. Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme. Since 2022, active as an employee in the gallery.
