Gustav Siegel

Wien 1880 - 1968 Wien

Gustav Siegel was born in Vienna in 1880. In 1897 he started attending the school for arts and crafts in Vienna, where he also studied architecture under Josef Hoffmann. In 1900, he started working for the Jacob & Josef Kohn corporation. A dining room and bedroom that the manufactory created based on his designs, were exhibited at the world exhibition in Paris in 1900 and won him the grand prix. After the first world war, Siegel started working for the Thonet-Mundus company instead. He died in Vienna in 1968.
