Jakob Gasteiger

Jakob Gasteiger, born in Salzburg in 1953, studied at the Mozarteum, the University of Music and Performing Arts in his hometown, from 1970 to 1974. He has received numerous awards, including the Anton Faistauer Prize for Painting and, in 2019, the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Province of Lower Austria, which, along with Vienna, is his second home. Since 1983, he has had regular solo exhibitions both in Austria and abroad. Over the years, he has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in countries such as Germany, Spain, the USA, Canada, and Japan. The artist lives and works in Vienna and the Weinviertel region.
