Fritz Riedl

Fritz Riedl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Albert Paris Gütersloh. In 1948 he began his career as a tapestry artist. Since then 170 tapestries have been created based on his designs. In 1968 Riedl created a manufactory in Mexico. Numerous designs by Austrian, as well as international designs, were realized by them. The artist started teaching textile design at the College for artistic and industrial design in Linz in 1976. Fritz Riedl also exhibited at the Venetian Biennale in 1954 and at the Documenta in Kassel in 1959.
