Katharina von Werz

1940 Munich

Katharina von Werz was born in Munich in 1940. She studied at the Academy for graphic commercial enterprises in Munich between 1959 and 1961, as well as the Ècole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, which she attended from 1963 to 1966. The main theme in her works is the human body, which she transforms and abstracts, but she still keeps it discernible. Her paintings are displayed in numerous museums, like the Pinakothek in Munich or the Staatliche Graphische Sammlung.
